UNDERSTAND MORE ABOUT OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

The first company in the world to focus on sustainability, completely eliminating wastewater, using rice husk as feedstock, producing silica and energy.

During the milling process the rice industry deals with husk, meal and rice.
The rice and meal are destined to food purposes, but the husk still lacks an ecologically appropriate disposal.

A SUSTAINABLE PROCESS

Environmental

RAW MATERIAL FROM RENEWABLE SOURCES
Using rice husks, a by-product of the rice industry that until now does not have an environmentally friendly destination. Due to phytomining the silica produced benefits from having no impurities.

LESS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Due to a closed circuit Oryzasil uses less water compared to the conventional process.

A CLEAN PROCESS
Through water evaporation, sodium sulphate is obtained, which is a commodity for markets such as detergent. Another product is grout which is used as a soil corrective and foliar fertilizer.

Economic

SELF-SUFFICIENT ENERGY
The rice husk is fuel for the electric power generation.

REDUCED POWER CONSUMPTION
Differentiated technology which uses less energy compared to the conventional silica production process.

Social

GENERATION OF DIRECT AND INDIRECT JOBS
For the city of Itaqui, Rio Grande do Sul

IMPACT ON THE LOCAL ECONOMY
By increasing the collection of state and municipal taxes
